Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Senior Finance Manager (Invoice to Pay _COE Operations lead) to join our GLBL BusSvcs ITP -Global Finance Services Division.
The incumbent would manage the strategy, accurate and timely recording, business analysis, communication, and effective control environment for all Caterpillar Inc. facilities and selected subsidiaries. Provides guidance on complex issues related to procurement, validation and payment of goods and services.
The incumbent would also Provide leadership and direction to a team of managers/supervisors and individual contributors. Overall Invoice to Pay practices have been established, but there is a continual need to interpret, coordinate and change recording activities, and standardize processes resulting from constantly changing business conditions and ongoing business systems transformations
The preference for this role is to be based out of Whitefield Office, Bangalore, India
What you will do
Primary responsibilities of the ITP COE Operations Lead are divided into three areas:
Managing Complex Work:
- Responsible for the monthly accounting and financial reporting of Global Business Services’ Invoice to Pay (ITP) processes
- Provides counsel, technical guidance, and expertise on complex business issues related to various supply chain processes and compliance with local and corporate regulations.
- Leads initiatives and makes decisions to represent the team with both customers and internal team members (i.e. process improvements, new business requirements).
- Provides creative solutions that challenge traditional methods ensuring processes are adaptive, flexible, and less complex to enhance team and customer performance, working with information technology to make changes to existing systems.
- Investigates new technology to recommend cost effective tools to improve customer satisfaction and reduce processing costs.
- Works with customers and informational technology teams to establish system priorities and enhancements.
- Leads and ensures compliance with Global Business Services’ governance processes and Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls by ensuring effective and adequate documentation of analysis.
- Partners with managed service provider for completion of routine transactional work and reviews and approves monthly performance metrics.
- Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of Caterpillar’s entire supply chain.
Managing People:
- Manages a team of managers and individual contributors. Sets expectations and assists in prioritizing projects. Analyzes staff-provided data for decision making at a summary level.
- Motivates team members to work towards individual and team goals and fosters an environment of teamwork and cooperation.
- Evaluates and reports on staff performance, participates in employee selection to ensure qualified candidates are selected to benefit the enterprise, provides career guidance and training direction, ensures compliance with personnel practices, and promotes team rewards and successes to ensure employee engagement to meet corporate strategic goals.

Managing Expectations
Counsels and actively participates in customer’s strategic business initiatives.
- Identifies, establishes, prioritizes, and communicates goals and objectives of team.
- Ensures team meets new and existing performance targets rapidly and effectively through continuous process improvement.

- Provides services, makes recommendations, and manages costs.

- Resolves customer’s issues by guiding team members.

- Moderate travel required (between 5% to 15% of working time).
What you will have
- 4-year college or university degree is required.
- 10 years of progressively(relevant) responsible job-related experience is typically required.
- Position requires a strong background in financial accounting and internal controls and knowledge of the Caterpillar organization, its products, policies and procedures are also desired.
- Position typically requires professional degree in a business-related subject.
- Incumbent must demonstrate initiative, leadership, excellent analytical skills, problem solving, good judgment and superior communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills are required to deal with highly sensitive issues and develop others or persuade others inside and outside the department to take specific actions.
- Experience supporting Procure to Pay / Invoice to Pay / Accounts Payable processes in a shared services environment and SAP experience are preferred.
- Flexibility to work some U.S./EAME shift hours is required.
