TheBoeing Company is currently seeking a Lead Software Engineer–DevSecOpsto support ourSpace Battle Management Command and Control(SBMC2)teamlocated inColorado Springs, Colorado. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization.
The ideal candidate will specialize in DevSecOps to support the CI/CD pipeline development effort under the Rocknet Software Development Services (SDS) Program. This role will focus on the architecture, sustainment, and expansion of pipelines and other technical solutions for a classified network.
The selected individual will architect, develop, document, and maintain standardized, efficient, and innovative processes, tools, methodologies, and performance metrics to streamline the software engineering lifecycle. This includes enabling continuous integration, delivery, and deployment of safety-critical software. The engineer will automate, develop, monitor, improve, and troubleshoot across software engineering development, tooling, testing, deployment, configuration processes, and security controls.
The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to build and maintain robust, scalable, and secure software engineering systems, while also analyzing, planning, and executing mitigation strategies to prevent potential security risks, threats, and vulnerabilities. Additionally, this position requires communication with customers and end users to elicit needs and requirements and architect compliant solutions, while leading the team in implementing these concepts.
Position Responsibilities:
Implements an environment that enables high levels of quality, safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across the organization
Collaborates with cross functional teams to build and maintain robust, scalable, and secure software engineering systems
Consults on current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulations in the software engineering DevSecOps environment
Advises on automation, development, monitoring, improvement, and troubleshooting across software development, tooling, testing, integration, deployment, configuration processes, and security controls
Oversees development, documentation and maintenance of standardized, efficient, and innovative processes, tools, methodologies, and performance metrics to streamline the software engineering lifecycle and enable continuous integration, delivery, and deployment of safety critical software
Oversees analyses, planning, and execution of mitigation strategies to prevent potential security risks, threats, and vulnerabilities
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
10+ years of related work experience in software engineering, DevSecOps, or a related field
5+ years of experience with cloud environments (AWS and Azure) and DevSecOps practices
5+ years ofExperience with CI/CD tools and methodologies, including Git, Docker, and Kubernetes
3+ years of leading technical teams and mentor junior engineers
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field
Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, C#, Java, and Python
Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices, including risk management frameworks
Experience with Distributive Interactive Simulation (DIS) standards and operator-in-the-loop real-time simulation
Familiarity with software security posture in proprietary areas
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and working in a customer-facing role
Knowledge of tools such as Jira, Confluence, Grafana, and Prometheus

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range for Lead Level (Level 5): $159,800 - $216,200
