Sr. Technical Advisor, Systems Engineering
KBR’s National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to our customers in the intelligence and national security communities. In this position, your work will have a profound impact on the country’s most critical role – protecting our national security.
- The ideal applicant will possess a strong program management background and has some experience with PNT systems.
- This individual will serve as a trusted advisor and mentor to a multi-disciplinary engineering team. This individual will leverage decades of experience in systems engineering and program execution to guide sound decision-making across technical, programmatic, financial, and contracting domains. While not expected to be a subject matter expert in every technical area, the candidate must demonstrate mastery of engineering methods, systems thinking, and structured decision processes.
- Provide direction for problem definition, analysis, constraint development and implementation for complex systems required to meet technical requirements. Activities include making recommendations and advising on system development, improvements, optimization, or support efforts. Performs risk assessments and analysis employing modeling and simulation techniques.
- Provides technical assistance and instruction relative to design problems and the resolution of construction or operating difficulties.
- Analyzes project requirements and provides information and instruction for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, designing, and modifying equipment as appropriate.
- Performs functional analysis of a system to ensure it meets performance criteria and mission constraints and to feed the analysis results back to the subsystem development teams.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM degree program
12+ years of experience providing technical assessments and advisory recommendations
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
Strong verbal and organized written communications skills
Preferred Skills and Experience:
20 years or more years of related work experience.
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM degree program
- Ability to provide advisory recommendations when developing new lab capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to work productively with team members, external partners, diverse organizations across multiple engineering domains
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 10-15
Basic Compensation: $160,000 - $194,000 (Salary Equivalent)
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
