Position Overview
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the organization. The CFO will provide strategic financial guidance, ensure fiscal discipline, and develop policies that safeguard the company’s assets while supporting growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Partner with the CEO and executive team to develop and execute the company’s long-term strategy.
- Provide data-driven insights and financial modeling to support business decisions.
- Act as a trusted advisor on financial planning, risk management, and investment strategies.
Financial Management
- Direct and oversee all financial and accounting functions, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, tax filings, and audits.
- Develop financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to protect company assets.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and capital allocation strategies.
Reporting & Analysis
- Deliver accurate and timely financial reports to stakeholders, including executives, investors, and board members.
- Monitor KPIs, financial performance metrics, and industry benchmarks.
- Identify risks and opportunities, recommending corrective actions where necessary.
Operational & Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.
- Implement systems and processes that improve efficiency and scalability.
- Oversee relationships with banks, auditors, insurance providers, and external financial partners.
Risk Management
- Assess and manage financial risks, including credit, market, and operational risks.
- Ensure proper insurance coverage and risk-mitigation strategies.
- Stay ahead of industry, economic, and regulatory trends impacting the business.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
- CPA Required
- CMA or CFA certification is a plus.
- 10+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of financial leadership in a growth-oriented business.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, corporate finance, and financial forecasting.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- High level of integrity, strategic thinking, and business acumen.
