Greatway Transportation Inc is looking to hire a handful of motivated and energetic individuals that understand J.I.T (Just In Time) Freight, how to book loads with brokers, and how to broker freight as well.
Greatway Transportation Inc is operating over 500 asset trucks within its network. With offices in Romulus, MI, Flint, MI, Laredo, TX, Windsor, ON, and Ramos MX.
Greatway Transportation Inc also has a logistics and warehouse division for consolidation and logistics services for our non asset business.
A bonus if you have worked as a dispatcher/coordinator running freight for the automotive industry using load boards such as Ryder LMS, Penske, Stars (FCA/Stellantis), NLM RXO, DAT Load Board.
Duties:
- Managing and Coordinating company trucks and owner operators freight that is assigned by Greatway.
- Dispatching Drivers to assigned freight via phone and electronic systems.
- Dispatch loads with drivers and follow up to make sure drivers are running on time.
- Maintain contact with drivers throughout their shifts and address any routing issues they might have
- Scheduling Drivers on proper routes based on driver schedules and availability.
- Tracking and Tracing throughout the day while freight is in transit.
- Communicating with our customers in a timely manner.
- Update customers on the status of their deliveries including any delays that may occur
- Communication with our drivers in a professional manner.
- Understanding how to use our systems - PCS- LMS- Penske- Stars- NLM/RXO- DAT- AOD
- Set load appointments with customers
- Respond to emails
- Enter loads into our dispatch system
- Update customer load boards
- A Bonus if you know how to broker freight as well for higher commissions.
Experience Requirements Qualifications include:
- Strong computer skills, data entry is part of the job.
- Knowledge with automotive freight.
- Knowledge with Ryder LMS, Penske, NLM, Active Aero and Stars load boards.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
- Must be able to communicate clearly with both drivers and customers in a busy work environment..

- Dispatch experience is a must.
- Must have excellent "people skills", including the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of customers and co-workers.
- Must live within 30 mins of Romulus (Detroit Metro Airport)
