Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated English instructor to inspire and guide learners across diverse educational settings. Responsibilities
- Design and deliver comprehensive English courses tailored to adult learners, university students, or language learners, incorporating curriculum development best practices.
- Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Blackboard or similar platforms to organize course materials, assessments, and student interactions.
- Conduct research to stay current with pedagogical strategies, language acquisition techniques, and digital learning tools.
- Incorporate learning technology to enhance classroom engagement and facilitate interactive lessons.
- Support students through effective communication skills, providing feedback on writing assignments, creative writing projects, and language development activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning and program development to ensure alignment with academic standards.
- Assist students in utilizing library services and other educational resources to deepen their understanding of course material.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field; a Master’s degree or higher is preferred.
- Proven experience teaching English at the university level or in adult education settings.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to teach creative writing and academic composition effectively.
- Familiarity with LMS platforms such as Blackboard or similar learning technology tools.
- Experience working with diverse student populations, including bilingual learners and adult education students.
- Knowledge of research methods, social work concepts (if applicable), GIS (Geographic Information Systems), SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences), or library services is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt teaching strategies for different learning styles.
- Classroom experience that demonstrates effective instructional techniques and student engagement strategies.
