Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone Orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. SECTION 1: JOB SUMMARY*
As part of the Global Planning team, the Planning Analyst — Reporting & Insights will focus on turning supply‑chain and inventory data into actionable insights that improve product availability and optimize inventory across Primary Hubs. This role partners with planning, supply, and E2E teams to design, maintain and automate reporting, dashboards and analytics that support replenishment strategy, inventory optimization and operational decision‑making.
SECTION 2: DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES*
Design, develop and maintain automated dashboards and reports (Tableau / Power BI) to track supply, inventory and fulfillment performance across Primary Hubs.
Build and maintain repeatable data pipelines and ETL workflows (Alteryx, JDE/SAP extracts) to ensure timely, accurate reporting and strong data quality.
Define, measure and monitor core KPIs (Backorders, OTIF, Inventory Days, Service Level, Forecast Accuracy, Excess & Obsolete) and produce weekly/monthly scorecards and trend analyses.
Translate business requirements into analytical solutions: requirements gathering, data model design, visualization specifications and delivery.
Automate regular reconciliation processes (Demand & Supply) and provide variance analysis for S&OP forums.
Drive process improvement using data (including STEM/continuous improvement projects) — identify automation opportunities and lead small pilot implementations.
Liaise with SNP/E2E teams and other stakeholders to align data definitions, reporting cadence and escalation pathways for business issues/opportunities.
Communicate insights and business implications clearly to stakeholders and escalate issues or opportunities as appropriate.
Ensure compliance with Company policies for data governance, health, safety and environmental practices.
Perform other analytical or reporting duties as assigned.
SECTION 3: EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION*
University / Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (preferably in Supply Chain, Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, Business or related field).
Relevant professional experience in supply chain planning, inventory management or analytics.
Hands on analytics experience producing dashboards, automated reports and conducting quantitative analyses.
SECTION 4: REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES and AFFILIATIONS*
Technical:
Hands‑on experience with visualization tools: Tableau or Power BI.
Experience building ETL/automation workflows (Alteryx or equivalent).
Familiarity with ERP systems (JDE, SAP) and advanced planning tools (OMP, Kinaxis, APO) is preferred.
Strong intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, Power Query, formulas) and PowerPoint for executive reporting.
Comfortable with basic data manipulation and SQL‑style thinking (ability to work with data extracts and transform them for analysis).
Analytical & Business:
Strong ability to translate complex supply chain problems into simple, data‑driven solutions.
Experience defining KPIs, building scorecards and performing root‑cause and scenario analyses.
Capability to balance short‑term operational needs and long‑term inventory optimization objectives.
