Job Summary and Qualifications
* This is a Full Time Day Shift position, Monday - Friday. Hours are 8:00am - 5:00pm. No call for this position *
As an RN Outpatient Testing, you will help to develop the plan of care specific to the Diagnostic Imaging Patient. You will perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on the diagnostic patient. Must be able to administer conscious sedation in the patient undergoing diagnostic imagine
What You Will Do In This Role:
- Use therapeutic communication in daily practice
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment
- Implement and direct care, using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of individual patients
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing process
- Provide emotional support of the patient and significant others to make informed choices regarding health care
- Delegate tasks to the appropriate caregiver
- Participate in Diagnostic Imaging specific initiatives and process improvement
- Promote a supportive Diagnostic Imaging environment
- Provide supervision of new employees, patient care assistant, vocational nurses, nurse technicians, student nurses and/or nurse externs
- Maintain high quality (age specific) care for infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, as assigned
- Support the Mission, Vision and Values of the organization
- Other duties as assigned
What qualifications you will need:
- Graduate of an accredited school or professional nursing
- Associates Degree required, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position
- Current RN License in the State of Texas or compact license
- Current BLS issued by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Current ACLS issues by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Experience with radiation safety required
- Critical care experience preferred
- Experience with infant to adult radiology patients, preferred

Medical City Heart & Spine Hospitals are hospitals for specialized advanced cardiovascular and spine care. The facilities are located near Medical City Dallas. They are designed to be efficient and result in faster recoveries. We offer an enhanced patient experience. Patients will benefit from leading edge treatments and technology.
