Overview:
The Driver/Messenger will be responsible for providing transportation and messenger support to a LAC Regional Office. The Driver/Messenger will support office staff with safe, timely and reliable transport of personnel and official program-related materials. The Driver/Messenger demonstrates a client-oriented approach, high sense of responsibility, courtesy, tact and the ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive program staff to destinations, arriving safely, following safety protocol, and ensuring staff and guest compliance to safety protocol while in the vehicle.
- Conduct daily checks to ensure vehicle cleanliness, functionality, and safety.
- Maintain valid and active vehicle licenses and permits.
- Ensure that transportation vehicle has necessary equipment e.g. spare tire, tool box, first aid kit and other safety vehicle accessories.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records on trip sheets including the logbook, fuel records and refills, staff transportation forms, vehicle maintenance, incident reports, accident reports, vehicle condition reports and other records.
- Timely report any vehicle faults or repairs needed and fill out an appropriate report.
- Remain flexible to work inconsistent hours on night and/or weekends.
- Ensure prompt and accurate delivery of program mail and documents as required.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be able to work-day shift, night shift or weekend duty if requested.
- Proficiency in Spanish and English Level 4 preferred.
- Proficient in Windows, Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
- Clean driving record and ability to demonstrate safe driving techniques with knowledge of driving rules and regulations
