Description:You will be the Software Engineer Senior Staff for the Air Vehicle Simulations team which is responsible for leading the development of next‑generation avionics services and safety‑critical flight software.

As the Software Engineer Senior Staff you will be responsible for guiding the Air Vehicle Simulations team through the full development lifecycle, from requirements generation to flight test.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing next‑generation avionics services and safety‑critical OFP software.
- Integrating flight‑critical hardware subsystems.
- Participating in end‑to‑end integration activities across live assets, simulated systems, and laboratory environments.
- Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure real‑time performance and compliance.

**Who You Are**
A collaborative, technically strong leader with deep C/C++ expertise, experience in real‑time and embedded systems, and a proven track record of delivering high‑impact software in regulated environments. MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree or above from an accredited college in a relevant field of study; or equivalent experience
• C/C++ experience
• Development of real-time systems or use of real-time operating systems (RTOS)
• Developing software for embedded systems
• Software development process experience in a team environment (peer reviews, unit testing, configuration management, defect tracking)
Desired Skills:
• Experience with embedded real-time systems
• Experience with static analysis tools and dynamics analysis tools
• Experience with Systems Engineering processes (requirements development, use cases, data flows, etc.)
• Experience Integrating hardware and software
• Experience with Git/Bitbucket/Bamboo/Linux
• Experience with C#, Python
• Experience working with safety/flight critical software development processes (e.g. MIL-STD-516C, MIL-HDBK-1797, AC-17-01)
• Experience with automated test methodologies
• Experience with networking protocols (e.g. IP, UDP, RTP, etc.)
• Experience with Modeling and Simulation (6DOF, AFSIM, Comms)
• Ability to build/maintain relationships, collaborate with others, and manage interpersonal dynamics
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $134,000 - $236,325. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
