Under immediate supervision, is responsible for professional level work in the Community Nutrition Program, one of several public health programs at Metro Health. Assists with researching and facilitating educational sessions on chronic disease health disparities, healthy procurement and healthy vending initiatives, food security work, nutrition educational material development and training, and nutrition communication messaging. The work is generally investigative, regulatory, educational, and consultative in nature. Working conditions are primarily in an office environment. May exercise functional supervision over assigned staff.
The San Antonio Metro Health District (SAMHD) provides public health services to clients, which may include risk for exposure to and possible transmission of vaccine-preventable diseases. Staff in high-risk positions will be required to obtain relevant immunizations, per SAMHD Policy DM 13.2. Review and consideration will be given to requests for exemption from this policy.
