Program Summary
KBR leads the government services world contingency market by providing responsive, full-service logistics support to forces deployed around the world under the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program contract (LOGCAP). KBR’s enduring mission support of the LOGCAP program dates back to 1992 when we served as the contract’s original prime contractor. Today, we have a workforce of over 6,000 people representing 40 nationalities who perform work on the contract in 14 countries.
Job Summary
The Lead Accountant is responsible for overseeing core accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with internal policies. This role involves managing the general ledger, analyzing balance sheet accounts, and guiding a team to meet business objectives.
Roles and Responsibilities
Maintain and oversee the accuracy of the general ledger and ensure compliance with internal accounting policies.
Analyze and reconcile complex balance sheet accounts to identify discrepancies and ensure financial integrity.
Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
Develop, implement, and monitor accounting policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency and compliance.
Lead and mentor a team of accountants, providing guidance and support on daily tasks and professional development.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
Manage internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses to audit requests.
Identify and resolve complex accounting issues using specialized knowledge and judgment.
Prioritize and allocate resources effectively to meet deadlines and business objectives.
Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes and systems to align with best practices and strategic goals.
Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong proficiency in general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Onbase, Costpoint, NetSuite).
Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex formulas.
Intermediate in English proficiency: Must be able to speak, read, and write in English at an Intermediate level.
Fluency in Albanian and possessing an unrestricted right to work and reside in Kosovo.
Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
CPA or equivalent professional certification.
Experience in a leadership or supervisory accounting role.
Knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS) and/or US GAAP.
Familiarity with financial analysis and strategic planning.
Experience working in a multinational or matrixed organization.
