The Facilities Maintenance Superintendent leads a multi-skilled team in the safe and effective operation and maintenance of facility infrastructure and systems at the Joint Defence Facility Pine Gap. The Facilities Maintenance Superintendent provides a professional service in leading and coordinating maintenance and configuration of all assigned facility infrastructure systems and equipment, through the leadership and supervision of an allocated crew of technical tradespeople. This includes responsibility for planning, organization, coordination, scheduling, training, mentoring, and resource and performance management relevant to their team’s day-to-day operation of the facility. Within this team the Facilities Maintenance Superintendent must foster a culture of continuous improvement, supporting the implementation of improvement initiatives and technical advances.
The Facilities Maintenance Superintendent is accountable for the efficient functioning of his or her team, including the timely identification and completion of operational and maintenance work tasks and ensuring high levels of service are maintained. This role also ensures that the facility operational configuration is controlled in a manner that maximises productivity and equipment reliability.
This position works closely with other Facilities Operations and Maintenance Superintendents to foster, promote and maintain best-practice standardization across the entire maintenance team, consistent and effective delivery of facility maintenance & support. This role is key to the success of the broader O&M team and thus also works closely with the Facilities leadership team and the O&M Facilities Area Manager (FAM) in the delivery of high-quality facility O&M services to enable the JDFPG mission.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Supervise and lead assigned team/teams to achieve allocated elements of the program Statement of Work (SOW) requirements. Team includes but not limited to Electricians, Plumbers, Fitters, Carpenters, Mechanics, Servicemen, and HVAC technicians/mechanics.
Plan, organize, resource and coordinate the execution of work schedules for allocated team/teams.
Lead, coordinate, supervise and execute preventative maintenance program on assigned facility systems and associated equipment.
Evaluate and document the functionality and reliability of assigned systems and associated equipment.
Develop and implement systems that contribute to quality improvements in the collection of maintenance information to enable strategic and forward looking plans and reviews.
Identify, propose and contribute to the development of process improvements relevant to assigned system and equipment responsibilities.
Conduct review and analysis of data, identifying recommending and implementing any necessary modifications expansion additions or subtractions.
Manage personnel issues and leave requests. Ensure the appropriate coverage necessary to meet site maintenance requirements and compliance with Oasis process and procedures.
Ensure compliance with all site environmental health and safety requirements. Ensure team compliance with relevant regulations, policies and procedures. This applies to company, government and site requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:
(AUS) Certificate III in a relevant Trade or equivalent experience and skills (US) related facilities certifications.
Applicable Trades include but are not limited to: Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC/Refrigeration, Mechanical.
Experience in Facilities Plant Operations and/or Management.
Strong Understanding of Infrastructure, facilities equipment and functionality within a large operational facility.
Strong understanding of general equipment maintenance requirements (preventive, predictive, corrective).
Strong understanding of technical plans and drawings with the ability to read and assess plans of all manner or technical documents.
Basic computer skills: Office 365 programs: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Citizenship: US Citizen or Australian Citizen.
Drivers License.
