Job Description
U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Software Engineer in Brookfield, WI.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop and build credit card APIs.
- Analyze functional and non-functional requirements and develop Java microservices using Spring Boot.
- Take full stack ownership by consistently writing production ready and testable code.
- Create optimal design adhering to architectural best practices, considering scalability, reliability and performance of systems affected.
- Analyze failures, propose design changes, and encourage operational improvements.
- Support deployment processes and create documentation and troubleshoot production issues.
- Actively engage in tracking and reducing technical debt.
- Conduct code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development
- procedures.
- Accountable for ensuring all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices.
- Perform analysis on failures, propose design changes, and encourage operational improvements.
- Build microservices using Maven for dependency management and Hibernate for ORM, ensuring seamless integration with Oracle 10G databases.
- Create dynamic front-end components with HTML, JavaScript, and JSP, while integrating back-end services using XML, JSON, and SOAP Web Services.
- Deploy and manage applications on Tomcat servers, troubleshoot production issues in Linux environments, and leverage Kafka for distributed messaging.
- Develop and modernize enterprise-grade integration solutions using Tibco 5.15 and Tibco BWCE.
- Utilize Git for version control and Eclipse for development, adhering to compliance and security best practices.
- Conduct code reviews, reduce technical debt, and optimize system performance through design improvements and operational enhancements.

Basic Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering plus 5 years of experience as a Technology Lead, Software Developer, Software Development Engineer, or related.
Required Skills/Experience: Must possess 5 years of experience with each of the following: (a) understanding business requirements; (b) developing microservices; (c) developing webs services using Java and SOAP Web Services; (d) code build and deployment using Jenkins; and (e) utilizing the following tools and technologies: Java; Spring Boot; SOAP Web Services; Spring; Hibernate; XML; and Postgre SQL. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location.
