What this job involves:
Drive strategic occupancy excellence as a Senior Occupancy Planner with JLL, where you'll provide comprehensive occupancy planning expertise leveraging deep understanding of client space supply and demand to develop sophisticated scenario and occupancy plans across diverse client portfolios. You'll serve as a Subject Matter Expert in workplace programs using data-driven solutions to increase productivity while modeling superior client relationship management and strategic thinking as a leader within the Occupancy Planning and account teams. This role positions you at the center of corporate real estate strategy, where your expertise in space utilization methods, forecasting, and policy enforcement will directly impact portfolio optimization and workplace transformation initiatives. Your strategic leadership will contribute to JLL's occupancy planning excellence while you foster critical relationships across organizational levels, manage complex planning scenarios, and drive innovative solutions that maximize space utilization and support business growth objectives.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Manage development of comprehensive occupancy plans, sequence group-level and individual moves, and resolve planning issues identified during client planning sessions while ensuring alignment with corporate guidelines and space maximization
Foster critical relationships with Corporate Real Estate, Business Unit leadership, Corporate Finance, Project Management, Move Coordination, and Facility Management teams to gather forecasts, resolve discrepancies, and coordinate strategic initiatives
Recommend, educate, and enforce space policies, standards, procedures, and protocols while notifying clients of customer-requested exceptions and assisting in developing site-specific Planning Strategies with Senior Leadership
Collect headcount forecasts from Business Unit leadership, gather top-down projections from Corporate Finance, and reconcile discrepancies between group-level numbers ensuring accurate demand planning across locations
Present space utilization data to organizational leadership, identify space requirements, prepare project status reports on actual versus projected seat demand, and forecast inventory changes at building levels
Review planning strategies driving construction projects, support project implementation, coordinate with move teams for migration plans, and conduct facility audits ensuring seamless execution
Collaborate with occupancy planning team members to develop portfolio strategy plans across separate locations while maintaining consistency in planning approaches and service delivery excellence
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Architecture, Design, Construction Management, or related field preferred with proven ability to lead through influence and demonstrate strategic thinking capabilities
Expert-level data analytical skills with ability to articulate compelling stories through data while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy, particularly with numbers and spatial creativity concepts
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, vlookups, and cell calculations with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint presentation development, and CAFM/IWMS software experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities to understand complex ideas, communicate effectively across organizational levels, and interact with executive-level external and internal clients
Highly organized with demonstrated high-level performance in project budgeting and scheduling, ability to work independently, multi-task, and manage time effectively while reorganizing schedules for changing team needs
Capability to think strategically, simplify complex situations, see big picture perspectives, and drive results while thriving on change with appetite for innovation and proactive solution development
Working knowledge of occupancy utilization, office design principles, and workplace trends such as mobile or collaborative workplace environments with understanding of space planning fundamentals
Preferred Qualifications:
Extensive background in corporate real estate, facility management, or workplace strategy with deep understanding of occupancy optimization, space planning methodologies, and industry best practices
Experience leading workplace transformation initiatives, implementing flexible work programs, or supporting organizational change management related to space and occupancy planning
Proficiency with business intelligence platforms, advanced analytics tools, or specialized space planning software that enhance data visualization and strategic decision-making capabilities
Proven track record managing executive-level client relationships, supporting account growth, or leading cross-functional teams in complex corporate environments
Experience with budget management, cost-benefit analysis, or financial modeling related to real estate portfolio optimization and capital planning decisions
Professional certifications in facility management (FMP), project management (PMP), or related disciplines with active participation in industry organizations (IFMA, CoreNet Global) demonstrating commitment to continuous learning
