Basic Job Functions:
The role of the EHS Coordinator includes working closely with Nucor Tubular teammates, contractors, and leadership to drive continuous improvement in safety culture, performance, and systems. Additional functions of this role include but are not limited to: providing support/resources to operations and maintenance for the implementation of safety and environmental improvements, conducting and/or supporting safety and environmental audits, inspections, and investigations, having a strong presence on the floor to build relationships and gain a thorough understanding of operations in each area, interpreting and practically applying regulatory and consensus standards (OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, EPA, etc.), building and facilitating effective safety and health processes, management systems, and training that drives hazard recognition and prevention, management of worker’s compensation claims, and interaction with regulatory agencies.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years’ safety related experience in an industrial setting
- Demonstrates understanding of OSHA and EPA regulations and recordkeeping requirements
- Must be willing to work required hours, with flexibility and ability to be on call 24/7 for emergency situations
- Must be willing and able to travel several times per year for safety meetings, audits, and best marking
- Supervisor and/or Manager Recommendation
Preferred Qualifications:
- ISO 14001/45001 Experience
- BS in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Environmental Engineering
