About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a mid-level US Regulatory Advisory Counsel to strengthen our Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) legal advisory capabilities in the United States. This role is critical to providing timely, real-time legal support to CIB businesses and related teams on cross-border issues, licensing and permissibility analysis, and assessing the impact of regulatory changes.
As part of an integrated global CIB legal advisory team, this position will enhance our US regulatory bench strength in a complex and rapidly evolving environment. It offers an opportunity for a mid-level attorney to work closely with senior attorneys on high impact matters that shape business strategy and risk management.
In this role you will:- Advise on licensing, permissibility, and regulatory legislation impacting CIB, with a particular focus on the US
- Implement and interpret legislative and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and support business objectives
- Identify and advise on legal and regulatory risks across CIB cross-border transactions
- Advise on structuring cross-border products or services to comply with local legislation and regulatory requirements
- Advise on legal permissibility and provide regulatory guidance regarding development and maintenance of front-office cross-border operating models
- Support business units, LOB Legal, and other functions, including compliance and control teams, with actionable legal insights
- Provide regulatory advice on business and product development into new jurisdictions
- Participate in strategic initiatives and identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency
- Advise on the impact of policy, legal, and regulatory changes on CIB operations and strategy
- Collaborate with functional colleagues, internal partners, and stakeholders to deliver integrated legal solutions
- Partner with business leaders and corporate management to develop and implement robust risk management programs.
Required Qualifications:- 4+ years of Law experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Active State Bar membership in the United States
Desired Qualifications:- Experience as a practicing attorney in private practice supporting financial services clients or in a financial services in-house legal department and/or financial regulatory agency
- Experience advising CIB businesses on cross-border legal matters (including licensing and permissibility) and assessing the impact of regulatory changes to the business
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex legal and regulatory issues and deliver practical, business-oriented counsel
- Prior experience advising on legal, regulatory, and compliance issues for a financial services firm
- Ability to evaluate and communicate impacts based on changes in laws or regulations
- Strong research skills and experience providing guidance on intricate legal issues.
Pay RangeReflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$139,000.00 - $260,000.00
