Job Description
This role can be based in San Francisco, Sunnyvale / Mountain view, or New York City offices.

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.
Our Marketing Strategic Finance team is seeking an Associate to support our Marketing Horizontals & Foundations workstream. In this role, you will be part of the GTM Horizontals Strategic Finance team, helping deliver financial insights that inform how the Marketing organization plans, tracks, and allocates investment.
You will support financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis across Marketing programs and headcount, helping improve visibility into Marketing’s financial impact and resource utilization. Working closely with senior finance partners, marketing stakeholders, and cross-functional teams, you will contribute to analyses that inform resource planning, investment trade-offs, and efficiency opportunities.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to clearly synthesize data into insights and materials that support decision-making at the senior-leadership level.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Thinking
- Contributes to strategy development with business partners, within a limited scope.
- Begins to validate and execute routine pressure testing of growth opportunities.
- Operationalizes ideas and develops plans for execution with support from more senior team members.
- Supports collaborative relationships with other teams and utilizes input and feedback to develop an understanding of their priorities and constraints.
Stakeholder Influence
- Communicates implications of work (e.g., forecasts, analyses, trends) to management and cross-functional stakeholders with the necessary business context.
- Leverages insights and data to develop narratives to influence stakeholders with some guidance.
- Synthesizes problems and communicates point of view to support decision-making on issues related to individual work in smaller group discussions.
Execution & Organization
- Collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to support the growth of initiatives by providing a metrics-oriented perspective, with some supervision.
- Communicates with stakeholders to answer a variety of questions.
- Develops standard workstreams and operational processes according to defined procedures.
- Begins to identify obstacles within immediate scope and makes recommendations.
Performance Management
- Supports performance management by creating, maintaining, and updating basic models and forecasts for assigned metrics.
- Access, transform, and synthesize data from cross-platform data sources and analyze to assess signals, trends, and risks, with some support from more senior team members.
- Leverages comprehensive knowledge to develop hypotheses using identified signals, trends, and risks.
- Executes ad hoc analyses to prove/disprove hypotheses and address well-defined business questions, deriving actionable insights from results.
- Begins to work with cross-functional teams to design experiments to close deviations from targets.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Business Analytics, Finance, or related field
- 1+ years of experience in finance, finance accounting, management consulting, investment banking, or related field OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Tableau, or Power BI) to analyze financial data and translate it into clear, actionable insights
- Collaborative, team-first mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Strong analytical skills, with experience breaking down real-world business problems and supporting data-driven recommendations
- Clear and concise communicator, able to effectively present analyses and discuss recommendations with cross-functional partners and senior stakeholders
- Proactive and intellectually curious, with the ability to seek out information, solve conceptual problems, and deliver high-quality work with guidance
- Proficiency in Excel; Familiarity with Oracle EPM tools is a plus

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
The pay range for this role is $80,000 to $128,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
