The Boeing Company is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join our Digital Analytics and System Health (DASH) software team in Ridley Park, PA. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Global Services (BGS) organization.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation and solid understanding of DevOps principles, cloud computing, and automation practices with a passion for technology, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. You will be a key driver in shaping the future of our software delivery leading the architecture, development, and maintenance of our internal developer platform, creating automated, self-service tools and infrastructure that empower product development teams. A successful candidate will be a seasoned technical expert, a pragmatic problem-solver, and an advocate for a robust, scalable, and secure engineering culture. As part of the team, you will oversee and execute a wide range of complex tasks leveraging cutting-edge software technologies that define the future of digital and analytics solutions for our customers.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Position Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and operate secure, scalable cloud architectures across cloud providers (e.g. AWS, Azure, and/or GCP), optimizing reliability, performance, and cost
Establish and enforce standards, best practices, and metrics for CI/CD pipelines, platform services, release management, security controls, and incident response
Architect and maintain internal platform capabilities (build pipelines, runtime environments, container orchestration, secret management, service catalogs, self-service APIs) to enhance developer experience and reliability
Ensure platform reliability, scalability, security, observability, and regulatory compliance at scale across multiple environments
Lead the design and evolution of scalable internal developer platforms (IDPs) and core services, driving platform-as-a-product adoption
Design, implement, and continuously improve end-to-end CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies (blue/green, canary) for rapid and safe software delivery across multiple environments
Enforce security best practices with automated controls (IAM, secrets, policy-as-code) and continuous compliance checks across the platform
Establish continuous monitoring and threat-detection frameworks for real-time insights and proactive incident response
Oversee risk assessment, threat modeling, and mitigation planning processes to align platform development with business objectives
Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of platform engineers, DevOps engineers, SREs, and tooling specialists
Drive modernization initiatives (cloud, IaC, automation, observability) while balancing risk and operational stability
Elevate cloud security posture using industry standards (NIST, CIS, OWASP) and implement policy-as-code and automation to raise the security baseline
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
10+ years of experience in reliability, software development, DevOps or infrastructure
8+ years of experience in a cloud computing environment e.g. Azure/AWS/Google Cloud
7+ years of experience installing and configuring open-source monitoring tools (Ex. Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, Elasticsearch, Kibana)
7+ years years of experience automating product development using scripting/programming languages
2+ years of engineering experience in the aerospace industry
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and executives.
Experience in government or military programs and regulatory/compliance standards familiarity
Certifications in cloud, security, or DevOps (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes Certification, CISSP, CISM)
2+ years of experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Kafka, Databricks).

Summary Pay Range: $176,800 - $239,200
