The Director of Supply Chain Planning Systems is responsible for the strategy, delivery, and operational excellence of enterprise planning technologies, with primary ownership of the Anaplan platform. This role partners closely with Supply Chain, Finance, Merchandising, and Business Planning leaders to enable integrated, scalable, and data-driven planning capabilities that support business growth and operational efficiency.
This position serves as the technology owner for planning solutions, driving continuous improvement, optimizing total cost of ownership, and ensuring platforms evolve in alignment with business strategy.
- Partner with Supply Chain and Merchandising leadership to support business strategy through innovative use of planning technologies.
- Translate business strategy into IT strategic and tactical initiatives that enable enterprise planning capabilities.
- Collaborate with business, IT, and external partners on requirements definition, solution design, model development, and delivery.
- Work with business owners to define priorities and initiate initiatives and projects.
- Prepare and deliver executive-level communications, presentations, and project updates.
- Ensure creation and maintenance of system documentation, process flows, training materials, and user communications.
- Lead the design and implementation of planning solutions aligned with enterprise architecture and strategic objectives.
- Ensure delivery of Supply Chain Planning initiatives with high quality, on-time execution, and adherence to best practices in design, testing, and user experience.
- Evaluate business processes and system needs to recommend and implement optimal solutions for enhancement, replacement, or deployment.
- Manage and develop onshore, offshore, and indirect resources.
- Establish functional goals and objectives aligned with company strategy.
- Serve as a critical member of the Supply Chain Planning support organization.
- Oversee end-user training and ongoing support for Anaplan and related planning platforms.
- Facilitate root cause analysis and resolution of production issues and system defects.
- Ensure services are delivered in accordance with defined SLAs and SOX compliance requirements.
- Manage relationships with technology vendors and service partners.
- Develop and manage operating and project budgets for planning systems and resources.
- Support financial planning, forecasting, and vendor contract management activities.
- 10+ years of IT experience supporting Merchandising and Supply Chain Planning solutions in a complex enterprise environment (retail experience preferred).
- 3+ years of experience implementing or supporting enterprise planning platforms such as Anaplan, Blue Yonder, o9, Relex, Oracle SCM, or similar technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical and functional solution designs.
- 3+ years of people management experience, including managing distributed and decentralized teams.
- Strong analytical and process-oriented problem-solving skills with demonstrated mathematical modeling capability.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and ambiguity.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy.
- Solid understanding of application configuration, integration, data management, and system architecture.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
- Anaplan certification or advanced platform expertise.
- Experience with AI-enabled planning technologies (e.g., Invent Analytics, Impact Analytics, Google AI, or similar).
