While working at Caterpillar Inc., you will work in an environment that supports excellence. You will lead your team in efforts to coordinates, oversee and monitors activities within the Fabrication Department.
In this role you may be expected to:
- Coordinate, oversee, and monitor activities in a fabrication value stream
- Provide input on schedule/build adjustments
- Train new and develop existing employees
- Learn basic CNC machining operations
- Position heavy fabricated metal components in fit-up jigs and weld fixtures utilizing overhead and jib cranes
- Operate robotic and manual weld machines
- Inspect own work quality utilizing weld gages, tape measure, and attribute gages
- Conduct in station repair on defective welds utilizing carbon air arc process, grinders, etc.
- Clear common robotic welding system faults in all qualified workstations.
- Complete routine maintenance (wire change, tip/nozzle change) in all qualified stations
Basic Qualifications:
- Heavy equipment manufacturing experience
- Intermediate proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Physical requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):
- Willing and able to sit or stand for prolonged periods
- Willing and able to perform repetitive operations
- Willing and able to lift up to 25 lbs.
Top candidates will also have:
- Welding experience (Highly Desired)
- Intermediate proficiency in MIG and Robot Welding (Highly Desired)
- Further vocational and/or college education
- Intermediate proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Intermediate proficiency in SAP software
- Intermediate proficiency with FreedomE log software
- Team Lead/supervisory experience
- Advanced problem solving/troubleshooting ability and root cause corrective action
- Ability to effectively communicate with various personality types
- Strong analytical skills/High attention to detail
- Strong performance ratings and excellent attendance

Summary Pay Range:
$27.95 - $34.95
