Amentum is seeking a Data Engineer to support a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission requirement secure data ingestion, transformation, validation, and compliance within a controlled federal environment. The role supports DHS case management and analytical platforms by ensuring data integrity, format compliance, and operational readiness for downstream analytics and reporting.
Responsibilities The Data Engineer performs data engineering and compliance activities in support of DHS data repositories and analytic platforms. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform data cleaning, normalization, and validation of DHS case and repository data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to DHS and Amentum data standards. and scrubbing repository data to ensure accuracy.
- Design, execute, and optimize data preprocessing and ETL workflows to improve ingestion efficiency, reduce rework, and support cost-effective operations.
- Transform and migrate structured and semi-structured data into required schemas and formats for ingestion into DHS systems, and Amentum Tools such as NISO Ascend and TrackVia.
- Conduct data quality audits and case file reviews to ensure compliance with established formatting, metadata, and documentation requirements.
- Identify data anomalies, integrity issues, and ingestion failures; document findings and coordinate corrective actions with technical and program stakeholders.
- Maintain detailed documentation of data workflows, transformations, and validation procedures to support audits, continuity, and knowledge transfer.
- Support ad hoc data requests, data reconciliation efforts, and operational reporting as required.
Requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain DHS Public Trust
- Bachelor’s degree (2–4 years exp), Master’s degree (0–2 years exp), or High School Diploma (8–10 years exp).
Compensation Details:
$105,000-$150,000
