Raytheon Engineering Execution is seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Senior Data Engineer to join our advanced data organization. This mid-career position is central to the development and optimization of robust, scalable, and secure data pipelines, as well as the establishment of enterprise-grade data systems that enable high-impact analytics and data-driven decision-making across the organization. We are seeking an individual with exceptional technical skills, a strong command of cloud-native ecosystems, and a proven ability to work effectively within a highly controlled, compliance-driven governance environment.

This role is required to be and remain onsite (Tucson, AZ, Tewksbury, MA or Richardson, TX) with a hybrid component after initial onboarding. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.
What You Will Do

Design, Develop, and Optimize Data Pipelines: Architect, develop, and operationalize end-to-end data pipelines that support comprehensive measurement collection, transformation, and analysis using Matillion ETL within hybrid cloud environments.

Data Warehousing in Snowflake: Manage and optimize data warehousing operations in Snowflake, including the development and maintenance of tables, canonical views, user-defined functions, stored procedures, and tasks to ensure a robust and scalable data ecosystem.

Collaborative Data Integration and Transformation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Power BI developers, Power Automate architects, and Artificial Intelligence engineers, to ensure the seamless integration and transformation of data from systems of record into authoritative sources of truth (ASoTs).

Data Quality, Security, and Scalability: Partner with stakeholders to implement best practices for data quality assurance, governance, and security, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and scalability to meet future analytic demands.

Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve complex data-related issues within data pipelines, data flows, and dashboards to ensure operational continuity and reliability in a mission-critical environment.

Formal Governance Adherence: Operate adeptly within a rigorously controlled governance environment, adhering to formalized approval gates, change management processes, and compliance mandates to maintain enterprise-grade data integrity and security.

Emerging Technology Evaluation: Continuously evaluate and incorporate advancements in cloud technologies, data engineering tools, and best practices, with a focus on AWS and Azure ecosystems, to enhance data operations and drive innovation.

Synergy Building Across Technical Teams: Foster effective communication and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to align objectives, streamline data workflows, and enable actionable insights through shared technical solutions.

Documentation and Observability: Ensure comprehensive documentation, version control, and observability of all data engineering workflows, pipelines, and processes in alignment with DevOps principles.

Develop Interactive Dashboards: Utilize Power BI and SharpCloud to create innovative data visualizations to support engineering operations and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Systems Engineering, or a related STEM discipline and a minimum of five years of prior relevant experience.

Experience in SQL and Python for complex data transformations, orchestration scripting, and automation tasks.

Experience in data analytics, dashboard development, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, SharpCloud).

Qualifications We Prefer

Master’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.

Demonstrated expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines using Matillion ETL or comparable enterprise-grade ETL tools.

Proven experience managing and optimizing data warehousing environments in Snowflake, including advanced knowledge of schemas and dimensional modeling techniques

Certifications in RTX CORE Professional, SharpCloud, SAFe, AWS, Azure, or Matillion.

Experience using SAFe Agile framework and JIRA.

Working knowledge of data analytics and reporting tools to enable insights and actionable decision making.

Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Matillion, PowerBI, SharpCloud) and cloud platforms (e.g., Xeta, Snowflake).

Experience with Microsoft Power Platform tools, including Power Apps and Power Automate, with the ability to leverage data connectors to integrate and automate workflows across different systems.

Excellent facilitation and strategic thinking skills, initiative / self-starter: able to execute within strategic vision with motivation and resiliency.

Detail oriented with the ability to appropriately balance priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.

Ability to operate effectively within a compliance-driven, tightly controlled governance environment, ensuring adherence to formalized approval gates and security protocols.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
