Title:
National Security Solutions (NSS) - Radar Graphical User Interface Developer Intern
Project Overview
KBR is recruiting full-time Radar Graphical User Interface Tester Intern for the spring 2026/summer 2026 semester. The intern will work through the software development lifecycle to help design and test a graphic user interface to control a radar system composed of an Arduino and ultrasonic sensors. This project will utilize agile test cycles, and the test intern will work side by side with the developer intern on identifying and documenting bugs, peer reviewing test cases, closing out New Feature tickets and deciding when a new build may be warranted. By the end of this project, interns will gain valuable experience working through the software development lifecycle to deliver a working radar system.
Key Responsibilities
Learning Outcomes & Impact
The Radar Graphical User Interface (GUI) Application project aims to provide an opportunity for an intern to demonstrate basic radar principles by developing a sonar radar application. The intern will work through the software development lifecycle to design and build a python graphic user interface to control a radar system composed of an Arduino and ultrasonic sensors. The intern will work with a team member to understand the desired functionality, performance criteria, and constraints in order to define system requirements. Based on the requirements, the intern will design and build a radar system using off the shelf components such as an Arduino and ultrasonic sensors. The radar system requires the intern to develop a GUI to serve as the primary interface for user to interact with the radar system, providing them real-time data visualization, control options and intuitive functionalities. The intern will work closely with testers to provide test procedures and user manuals to validate the functionality and performance of the radar system. Interns will be responsible for providing ongoing maintenance and support for the radar system, including bug fixes, updates, enhancements. By the end of this project, interns will gain valuable experience working through the software development lifecycle to deliver a radar system.
