This position is accountable to the Manager, Quality and Safety with responsibility for the implementation of the concepts, practices and procedures within the health, safety and environmental fields and Quality Assurance with responsibility for quality planning, process improvement and problem resolution including all Integrated Management procedures
Essential Responsibilities: Safety
• Administers safety training of all managers, supervisors and leads.
• Coordinates safety training as applicable with needs and WBC requirements.
• Maintains compliance with governmental regulatory agencies.
• Manages waste disposal contracts, procedures and compliance.
• Communicates Safety alerts resulting from inspections, near misses and injuries.
• Coordinates routine fire and alarm system, crane and elevator inspections and testing
• Coordinates spill cleanup and prevention
• May be required to help in other departments as directed.
• This position is also responsible for, with authority to follow ISO procedures, initiate action to prevent problems, document quality problems, contribute to problem solutions, verify implementation of solutions, control further processing when a problem is identified, protect the environment, including preventing pollution, analyzing or identifying areas for correction or improvement.
Essential Responsibilities: Quality
• Quality/Audit Leadership
o Acts as the internal Lead ISO Auditor
o Ensures internal ISO audits are done effectively and on time.
o Leads external ISO audit prep company wide.
o Ensures all quality assurance schedules are maintained.
• Production Support
o Provide root cause and corrective actions for production and supplier quality issues.
o Work closely with the Manager Quality and Safety in developing internal quality improvement plans
• Documentation Management
o Establish and maintain ISO policy and procedures.
o Combine and integrate PMW & LWG ISO policies and procedures into one document/one practice for TWG Canadian Operations.
o Work along with all departments to ensure ISO procedures are kept up to date.
o Work along with Engineering to provide corrective actions internally and to external customers
• Process Management
o Implements ongoing improvement processes working with interdepartmental teams.
o Develop and manage quality assurance and environmental metrics for performance improvement of all teams and to measure key suppliers.
o Measures the internal cost of quality.
o Utilizes six sigma/various Lean management techniques where needed.
• Organizational Liaison
o Manages and responds to quality assurance and environmental issues with related groups such as IT support, Engineering, Supply Chain/outside services/purchased product, Manufacturing and Sales/Customer support
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field and two to three years-related combined experience in the areas of Safety, Quality Control, Continuous Improvement and Operations; or equivalent successful combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to travel as required and /or directed.

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:
• Must be able to perform the following physical activities: standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, bending, lifting, balancing, stooping, reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing.
• Must be able to move around obstructions such as boxes, chairs, desks, office equipment and other related items that may be on the floor, move around airports, in and out of airplanes or other approved means of transportation.
• May require lifting up to 50 pounds with or without lifting aids and devices.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing shop and climate-controlled office environment as job duties require. May be exposed to loud operating machinery and cold or hot temperatures.
