About the Team
The Workday GO organization is a newly established, high-impact team within the broader Workday Growth Organization, dedicated to accelerating Workday's success in crucial, must-win market segments, with a particular focus on the Medium Enterprise (ME) business. Led by the General Manager (GM) of Workday GO, this team is responsible for aligning product strategy, Go-to-Market (GTM) execution, and operational excellence to drive step-change performance in these key markets. We operate with the focus and agility of an integrated business unit, backed by the resources and stability of Workday. The Outbound PM function is a critical new leadership role designed to be the primary engine for driving GTM velocity and commercial alignment to deliver improved value to customers and partners in our most strategic growth markets.
About the Role
As the Director of Outbound Product Management, Workday GO, you will serve as a high-judgment, systems-level strategic operating partner and advisor to the General Manager. This is an impactful role blending the functions of business strategy, commercial operations, and cross-functional GTM leadership within a highly matrixed environment.
Your primary mandate is to maximize the Workday GO business unit’s velocity and leverage by acting as the "glue" to ensure strategic commercial priorities are executed, GTM processes are aligned, and the organization is optimized to accelerate ME growth.
You will act as the architect of the commercial engine, translating the GM’s vision and strategy into a cohesive, measurable, and executable GTM plan. This is not a role of direct ownership over the Marketing, Sales, or Partner organizations, but rather the central function responsible for orchestrating, governing, and driving tight alignment across all key cross-functional partners—including Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Services, and the Partner ecosystem—to achieve our ambitious growth objectives. You will enable the GM to focus on external growth, strategic partnerships, and executive-level strategy by owning the internal commercial rhythm and execution of the business unit.
About You
Orchestration and Alignment for ME Growth (Matrix Leadership)
You will be responsible for the broad goal and remit of orchestrating effective GTM alignment and governing execution across matrixed functions to accelerate ME growth. This includes:
Partnering with Sales and Marketing to define, target, and focus on high-value key segments.
Governing and facilitating the evolution of Workday GO packaging, ensuring it incorporates data, feedback, competitive changes, and market needs from all GTM teams.
Driving cross-functional accountability for the effective and continuous enablement of the Workday Field and External Partner Ecosystem.
Designing and implementing the operational cadence to ensure aligned commercial motion between Marketing, Sales, and Partner organizations.
Strategic Advisor to the GM
Serve as a strategic thought partner to the GM, providing insights on commercial performance, GTM risks, and market opportunities.
Prepare executive-level memos, presentations, and decision frameworks for critical topics like GTM strategy, resource allocation, and product commercialization.
Help create mechanisms to protect the GM's time, enabling them to focus on high-leverage activities like external engagement and thought leadership.
Partner with Workday's Organizational Success (HR) team on people-focused initiatives to foster a healthy, high-performing commercial culture.
Commercial and Operational Excellence
Design, implement, and manage the Workday GO commercial operating model and strategic cadence to ensure maximum GTM velocity and sales pipeline acceleration.
Lead the planning and execution processes (e.g., QBRs, GTM readouts) for the business unit, ensuring all commercial goals and OKRs are aligned with the overall business strategy.
Identify and drive opportunities for 10x efficiency and leverage, particularly through the use of AI and automation in GTM and partner-facing functions.
Oversee a portfolio of critical, cross-functional commercial initiatives and projects, ensuring successful completion and impact measurement.
Strategic Partner Ecosystem Alignment and Governance
Partner with the Workday Partner Organization to lead the strategy and execution required to maximize the leverage of Workday's External Partner ecosystem as a force multiplier for ME growth.
Collaborate with Partner leadership to develop and implement foundational commercial standards for partner enablement and go-to-market engagement, ensuring a high-quality, scalable partner lifecycle.
Drive the operational cadence and alignment with Partner Organization leadership to ensure Workday GO’s GTM is fully integrated into the partner channel motion.
Monitor partner performance and engagement, providing data-driven insights to the GM and Partner leaders to identify and resolve blockers to growth.

Our Approach to Flexible Work
With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.
Pursuant to applicable Fair Chance law, Workday will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

At Workday, we are committed to providing an accessible and inclusive hiring experience where all candidates can fully demonstrate their skills. If you require assistance or an accommodation at any point, please email accommodations@workday.com.
