This is a highly visible role at the intersection of design, manufacturing, and quality—ideal for an engineer who thrives on precision, problem-solving, and improving how work gets done on the shop floor.
In this role, you’ll review and check design data (Drawings and Bills of Material) for rework of test product, translating statements of work and engineering changes into clear, detailed, technician-ready instructions. You’ll also serve as a consultant and advisor to the technician, design and quality teams by assisting in clarification of ambiguous data and recommending methods and tools to effectively produce the product. And over time, this role offers the opportunity to expand into broader Manufacturing Engineering (ME) capabilities, including creating drawings, designing fixtures, and driving process improvements that make technicians’ jobs safer, easier, and more efficient.
What You Will Do
-
Review and validate design data, including drawings and bills of material, to support rework of test and production articles.
-
Create, compile, and maintain Seat Rework Orders (SRO’s) and work instructions based on scopes of work and engineering changes.
-
Partner closely with design, project, and quality engineers to clarify requirements and resolve ambiguous data.
-
Serve as a technical advisor to engineering technicians, recommending methods, tools, and sequencing to ensure high-quality execution.
-
Analyze designs and develop component layouts and assembly approaches.
-
Review test plans and create or support 3D models for complex test setups and rework activities.
-
Support strain gage and test configuration reviews for practicality and manufacturability.
-
Diagnose and resolve issues related to test article rework, build defects, and nonconformances.
-
Provide guidance to manufacturing sites on build issues and potential corrective actions.
-
Coach and review the work of less-experienced engineers and technicians.
-
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, including future opportunities to design fixtures, improve processes, and simplify technician execution.

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
