As the Director Commercial Technology, you will guide a team of analytics professionals as you continuously drive greater efficiencies and provide innovative data solutions. You will coordinate with commercial partners to build operational analytics platforms through impactful solutions to extract value, while operating in compliance with all tariff and NAESB/FERC guidelines. Responsibilities/Expectations:
- Provides direction in running the commercial technology and systems team, the modernization efforts, and an extensive list of consulting roles for the department
- Ensures systems operate with all regulation guidelines, continuous availability for customers and communicates issues on a timely basis to senior management, customers and internal partners
- Uses standard processes to improve systems when reviewing internal project proposals for compliance and prioritizes defects and modifications based on risk level to ensure maximum efficiency to minimize costs
- Advises internal experts on contracts, scheduling, and billing systems and develops strategies for expansion; designs and implements solutions that enable consistency with cross-functional teams while also serving the data needs of customers
- Works closely with internal customers to build systems of intelligence empowering product development, uncover business opportunities from behavioral data and provide leadership with insights on the overall health of the business
- Leads and defines the vision and strategy of data analytics and data engineering teams by using descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics
- Partners closely with leadership and key customers as a trusted and influential partner to identify important questions, define metrics and cultivate data driven decision making
- Coordinates workforce planning and career development for direct employees
- Develops/manages budgets, plan and forecasts; conducts regular cost analysis

Education/Years of Experience:
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering or IT and minimum ten (10) years of proven energy experience
- Preferred: Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering or IT and minimum ten (10) years of proven energy experience
Other Requirements:
- Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills as well as Power BI
- Previous experience leading or supervising a team
- Knowledge of data models, data governance, experimental design, execution and complex data bases
- Experience leading business systems projects with cross-functional internal and collaborative partners
- Thorough understanding of all scheduling and contracting processes and regulatory requirements
- Ability to analyze data, do trend analysis and predictive behavior to support filings and projects
- Preferred: Knowledge and experience with machine-based learning tools
