Job Summary
The Logistics Coordinator manages daily freight operations for assigned mid-sized CPG clients as part of a dedicated client logistics team. Acting as an extension of the client’s logistics function, this role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring shipments across all modes — including Truckload (TL), Less-than-Truckload (LTL), and multi-stop or multi-drop truckloads.
The Logistics Coordinator ensures every shipment is executed accurately, cost-effectively, and on time while maintaining compliance with client routing guides and service standards. Working closely with carriers, clients, and internal team members, this role proactively manages exceptions, resolves delivery issues, and supports performance tracking and KPI reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Freight Planning & Execution
· Plan, coordinate, and execute daily shipments across Truckload, LTL, and multi-stop/multi-drop truckload modes.
· Optimize route sequencing and stop planning to improve cost and service efficiency.
· Assign carriers, secure bookings, and confirm appointments for all shipments.
· Monitor shipment progress, proactively manage exceptions, and ensure on-time pickup and delivery.
· Verify compliance with client-specific routing guides, delivery windows, and documentation standards.
· Analyze shipment patterns to identify load consolidation or routing optimization opportunities.
Client & Carrier Communication
· Serve as the primary logistics contact for assigned clients, managing all shipment updates and issue escalations.
· Communicate daily with carrier partners to confirm appointments, resolve service issues, and maintain relationships.
· Provide timely updates on shipment status, delays, and delivery confirmations.
· Represent the client’s logistics interests internally, ensuring alignment with their service and performance expectations.
Performance, Reporting & Collaboration
· Collaborate with the Freight Performance Coordinator on KPI tracking, freight invoice validation, and cost or accessorial analysis.
· Partner with the Carrier Relations Coordinator to source reliable carriers and maintain preferred carrier utilization.
· Maintain accurate shipment data and tracking milestones.
· Participate in monthly or quarterly client performance reviews, presenting shipment data, service metrics, and improvement recommendations.
· Support process optimization and SOP enhancement initiatives across logistics operations.
Education & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).
· 3–5 years of experience in logistics coordination, transportation planning, or operations within a 3PL, 4PL, or CPG logistics environment.
· Proven experience managing both LTL and truckload shipments, including multi-stop or multi-drop routing.
· Experience supporting retail, food, or temperature-controlled freight preferred.
Technical Skills
· Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and shipment tracking tools.
· Strong data management and analytical skills using Excel or Google Sheets.
· Familiarity with routing logic, cube/load optimization, and carrier scheduling processes.
· Experience with digital load boards, carrier portals, or EDI systems preferred.
· Strong documentation accuracy and organizational discipline.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
