Basic Job Functions:
The lead will establish enhanced roles for specific floor operators in Hartford to oversee a regular inventory cycle counting program on the manufacturing floor and monitor safety and quality resulting in continuous improvement in all three key areas. The Production Lead will be chosen based on their product knowledge, production skill set, communication skills, and overall accountability. The Leads will be responsible for specific areas and work centers within each factory and accountable for all of the materials that are stored and consumed in those areas. They will focus on accuracy in inventory organization, labeling and accuracy of counts in their defined work centers. The Lead will ensure quality processes are followed and quality product is produced in their assigned work centers. The Lead will ensure that all associates working in their defined areas are working safely, applying safe work techniques and at all times using proper PPE to mitigate any potential injuries.
In addition to regular counting, the Leads will also be collaborating with production management, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure that the counts are accurate and any discrepancies can be justified or explained in a reasonable and timely fashion.
The Lead will work with the Quality Specialist to review quality concerns and make corrections as necessary prior to shipment of the product. The Quality Specialist will share with the Lead metrics of quality concerns from the field on a weekly basis.
The Lead will ensure their assigned work centers maintains good housekeeping and follow all safety policies.
- Ability to locate and count all components quantities in an effort to hit target accuracy
- Validation of counts per system indication. Adjustment of counts as necessary after in depth trouble-shooting of variance. Larger variances (greater than 5%) to be discussed with Finance prior to system adjustment. Collaborative problem-solving and recommended solutions to improve accuracy
- Collaborative interaction with Supply Chain team members to ensure appropriate quantities, packaging size and labeling from our suppliers.
- Collaborative interaction with Receiving department and other production work centers to ensure proper storage and/or staging locations of inventory in assigned work centers.
- Adherence to Quality processes and identification of concerns to the Quality team. As necessary, discussion and collaboration around correction/solution of concern with Quality team.
- Ensure proper house-keeping and adherence to safety policies in assigned work centers. Work with Safety team to ensure assigned work centers are operating safely and following all safety protocols. Help management and safety team document all safety incidents in assigned work centers.
- Guide and respond to day to day inquiries around proper processes and procedures in regard to standard operating procedures on the Production floor in designated work centers.
- Collaboratively work with Production Supervisor to solve problems and propose enhanced processes.
- Perform role in assigned production work center skillfully and with high quality, adhering to Company core values.
- Work with management to provide regular communications to operators in assigned work centers any changes or events that pertain to the assigned areas.
- As necessary, aid in the selection and training of new staff in assigned work centers.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and technical skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Ability to suggest solutions and be collaborative in nature
- Familiarity with SAP, Microsoft Outlook
- Ability to read engineering prints within the L Drive
- Excellent communication skills, clear, detailed and positive
- Ability to deal with problems involving with several concrete variables in standard situations
- Motivated by company goals and initiatives as well as own personal/team goals
- Ability to delegate as necessary
- Ability to lead by example and motivate others in assigned work centers
