The Role
The Business Cards and Payments Marketing team is a passionate and entrepreneurial team of strategists. The Creative Excellence & GTM team is focused on creating and executing strategically sound marketing plans across paid digital, customer and field marketing campaigns.
We are looking for a Senior Marketing Manager to join our team to lead a talented team of strategists in building and delivering the marketing material and capabilities needed to enable our large team of B2B sellers to connect with businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead a team of marketing strategists to deliver diverse marketing collateral, processes and validate new leads and help build the marketing capabilities to future proof our field marketing ecosystem.
Partner closely with the Product teams to define roadmaps for new capabilities needed (such as Content management system, lead automation, and etc.)
Partner with the Field leadership team to deeply understand sellers needs, validate marketing opportunities and prioritization and communicate updates to the broader field team.
Partner closely with Channel Marketing teams to develop and execute integrated campaign strategies that align back to the product’s brand strategy.
Understand how competitors and non financial services companies are evolving either field marketing ecosystem to drive more efficiency and effectiveness for their salespeople.

High level of initiative and ownership, ability to coordinate efforts across diverse functional groups
People leadership experience with an empathetic approach and passion for coaching and career development
Ability to self-direct and task switch between strategic and tactical initiatives regularly
Succinct, focused written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
Preference to work on highly ambiguous projects – where you are expected to test hypotheses and stand up best practices that don’t exist today
Diligent listening skills and the ability to adapt approach among diverse audiences to tease out insights and pain points
High degree of comfort bringing ideas to the table that might at first seem absurd – then quickly build a case for testing and ultimately a recommendation for pursuit, scaling or abandoning
Confidence to ask hard questions and push into uncharted territories – and not defaulting to the status quo before exploring new paths and quantifying risk / reward
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
At least 7 years of experience in building and executing marketing strategies
At least 3 years of product marketing experience building value propositions and go-to-market strategies to bring new products to market
At least 3 years of people leadership experience managing and developing a team of direct or indirect reports
Preferred Qualifications:
8+ years of marketing experience in a large, fast-paced technology-forward culture
Demonstrated success in defining and launching insights-driven marketing plans and value propositions in support of product roadmaps and objectives

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Plano, TX: $161,500 - $184,300 for Sr. Manager, Marketing
McLean, VA: $177,700 - $202,800 for Sr. Manager, Marketing
Richmond, VA: $161,500 - $184,300 for Sr. Manager, Marketing
New York, NY: $193,800 - $221,200 for Sr. Manager, Marketing
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
