On the 'Deep Atmosphere Venus Investigation of Noble gases, Chemistry, and Imaging' (DAVINCI) project, we're performing in-situ science of the Venusian atmosphere, expanding our knowledge of the worlds beyond Earth.
Lockheed Martin is seeking a highly skilled and motivated In-Situ Phase Lead to join the DAVINCI team in Denver, Colorado.
As the In-Situ Phase Lead, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the follow:
- Lead the design of the Release, Entry & Descent phase, including requirements definition, critical event architecture development, test, and verification
- Coordinate with the science, relay and project teams to ensure successful phase integration
- Perform the verification and validation of the in-situ phase requirements
- Perform systems integration for the S-Band Relay Link (SBRL), including coordination with the SBRL team, definition of the data transfer architecture, and the development and ownership of the interface requirements and documentation
Basic Qualifications:- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field and 7+ years of equivalent work experience
- Experience resolving complex technical issues by applying technical knowledge and leadership skills with a multidisciplinary team
- Experience in mission operations post-launch
Desired Skills:- Experience in deep space mission operations
- Experience with data relay through
- Experience on a NASA project with GSFC
- Knowledge and application of Systems Engineering processes and one or more Systems Integration functions including:
a) System trade studies and/or System modeling
b) Requirements and specification development
c) Interface management and/or Interface Control Document (ICD) development
d) System integration, test and/or verification planning and execution
- Experience ensuring the physical and functional compatibility of hardware/software products throughout the full lifecycle of the program
- Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker; selects and applies appropriate systems thinking skills to solve very complex problems and implement constructive change
- Experience participating in major program milestone reviews such as PDR and CDR
- Excellent communication skills and ability to form effective customer relationships

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $109,200 - $192,510. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
