Not RequiredAs a Program Quality Engineer II – 2nd Shift in our Rockford, IL location, you’ll play a critical, hands-on role in safeguarding product integrity and driving quality excellence across active manufacturing programs. Supporting 2nd shift production, you’ll be embedded where decisions matter most—working directly with manufacturing teams to ensure customer quality requirements are fully understood, flowed down, and executed across internal operations, Collins-wide support sites, and key suppliers. From managing escapes and nonconforming material to leading root cause analysis and corrective actions, you’ll be a trusted quality leader ensuring issues are resolved decisively and don’t reoccur.
This role blends program-level responsibility with product-level execution, giving you exposure to complex manufacturing environments, cross-functional stakeholders, and multi-site coordination. You’ll enhance and maintain quality systems, oversee testing and inspection methodologies, support MRB and supplier quality activities, and help drive proactive quality initiatives that strengthen both process reliability and customer confidence. This is an Onsite role in Rockford, IL. The core hours for 2nd Shift are 3:30pm - 12am.
What You Will Do:

Support Production on 2nd Shift of Manufacturing

Understand and implement customer quality requirements, ensuring thorough flow down and execution of these requirements across internal production and Collins wide support sites as well as major subcontractors

Lead the execution of escape management procedures, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning and implementation, adhering to current standard work

Enhance processes to develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation, control systems, and protocols

Oversee and resolve nonconforming material and process noncompliance events

Provide detailed analysis and explanations of testing and inspection plans, methods, and technologies to ensure product and process reliability and conformance

Ensure projects and process control documentation comply with requirements, objectives, and contracts

Assist with supplier quality activities, warranty processes, part purges, and MRB activities
-
Develop and implement proactive quality initiative strategies

Oversee both Program and Product Quality Engineering responsibilities
Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field

Previous experience supporting quality functions within a manufacturing or production environment

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
