POSITION SUMMARY:
The Junior Accountant provides support to ensure day-to-day accounting functions and processes. This includes Accounts Payable, performing account analysis and reconciliation, reviewing balance sheet and P&L accounts, ensuring deadlines are met, and performing other projects as assigned.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Processes accurate and timely vendor payments
Reviews general ledger accounts to the corresponding subsidiary ledger, income and expense accounts, and monthly entries for accurate coding and correct ledger amount
Assist AP team with month end closing tasks and journal entries
Maintains records and files in accordance with established filing system
Ensures that transactions are correctly coded and verifies their compliance with financial procedures
Maintains relationships with vendors and suppliers
Upholds confidentiality at all times
Must be able to sit at a desk and type for eight hours per day and talk to employees in person and by telephone frequently throughout the day
Assist with other special projects as assigned by Management
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be a self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication, problem-solving skills, and strong quantitative and analytical competency.
Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Must have strong written, verbal, and quantitative skills and be comfortable working in Excel,
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent preferred
