Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking interns for our Santa Barbara location!
The intern will be responsible for assisting in optical and thermal modeling, conducting camera performance analysis, collaborating with mechanical engineering, optical engineering, test engineering, and manufacturing teams The intern will also contribute to technical presentation.
Duties include:
-Experience in lab-based courses with hands-on lab experience.
-Experience in Matlab.
-Experience troubleshooting electronics boards.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment.
-Proficient with Microsoft Office.

The location: Goleta is a city in southern Santa Barbara County, California. Goleta is part of the central coast region of California and offers lots of great scenery and is a great place to live and raise a family. The region is known primarily for agriculture and tourism. Major crops include wine grapes, lettuce, strawberries and artichokes. Goleta is known for near the University of California, Santa Barbara campus. Much of Goleta is considered to be a quiet suburban community while Santa Barbara tends to attract most of the tourist and the areas residents. Goleta is about 8 miles west of the city of Santa Barbara, along the coast that runs east to west in this portion of southern California. Where can you drive from Goleta? Goleta is 2 hours northwest of Los Angeles. San Francisco is about 5 hours to the north of Goleta. Las Vegas is about 5 hours to the northeast.
Basic Qualifications:-Currently enrolled in a bachelors or graduate degree program in engineering, physics or a related discipline at an accredited college/university.
-Experience in a scripting language such as Matlab, Python, C, etc.
-Hardware troubleshooting.
Desired Skills:-Experience in lab-based courses with hands-on lab experience.
-Experience in Matlab.

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $31,616 - $77,788. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
