Boeing Commercial Airplanes Supplier Quality team is seeking a Supplier Quality Specialist. Provides education and coaching on Special Processes (as defined in AS9100 and D1-4426), quality systems, regulatory compliance issues and company initiatives. Develops training materials and other resources to support improvements in supplier performance and productivity. Documents and reports audit and assessment results. This position is based in greater Nagoya area.
Position Responsibilities:
Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Primary work location is at supplier’s facility or Boeing offices.
- Under general supervision, plans, organizes and leads assessments of supplier's Special Processes, systems, and products.
- Documents and reports key supplier metrics, audit and assessment results to leadership and stakeholders.
- Provides supplier education and coaching on processing methods, quality systems, regulatory compliance issues and company initiatives.
- Evaluates and develops improvement plans.
- Resolves routine issues and concerns.
- Evaluates supplier’s Inspection Plans and techniques.
- Performs follow-up on audit and assessment findings.
- Ensures supplier notifications of quality escapes are processed.
- Provides technical expertise on specific manufacturing processes to suppliers.
- Interprets routine requirements and resolves supplier issues and concerns.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
- A minimum 5 years of hands-on Special Process experience.
- Business level English (Written and Spoken)
- Basic computer skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in aerospace
- Knowledge of Quality Systema/Standards, for example, Boeing Quality Management System (BQMS), International Organization for Standardization (ISO9001), Aerospace Standard (AS9100), and Nadcap requirements.
- Business level of Japanese (Written and Spoken)
- Non-destructive Testing Level II or III (NAS 410 or equivalent)
Location:
The selected candidate will be required to work on-site (with some flex) at supplier’s location in Gifu and Boeing office in Nagoya.
Up to 50% domestic business travel required.
Some international travel may be required.
