Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our logistics operations by ensuring efficient supply chain processes, inventory management, and effective communication across departments. This position requires a strong understanding of logistics and supply chain principles, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing supply chain operations, including inventory control and warehouse distribution.
- Support purchasing activities and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels using warehouse management systems.
- Facilitate transportation management by coordinating shipments and tracking freight movements.
- Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency within logistics functions.
- Collaborate with the team on demand planning and order fulfillment processes to meet customer needs.
- Utilize ERP systems for data entry, reporting, and analysis related to logistics operations.
- Participate in shipping and receiving activities, ensuring proper packaging and materials handling.
- Assist with category management and sourcing initiatives to optimize procurement strategies.
- Maintain compliance with safety standards while operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
- Proficiency in inventory management techniques and warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems and logistics software.
- Experience in process improvement methodologies within a logistics context.
- Ability to analyze data effectively for decision-making purposes.
- Knowledge of freight operations, including 3PL services and NVOCC regulations.
- Understanding of e-commerce logistics requirements and order fulfillment processes.
- Competence in materials management, packaging, and dispatching functions.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
