Basic Qualifications:Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field.
Familiarity with the fundamentals of fluid dynamics and aircraft design.
Introductory experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) concepts (e.g., numerical methods, turbulence modeling, boundary conditions).
Basic understanding of rotorcraft aerodynamics.
Desired Skills:Hands‑on experience with at least one CFD package (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, STAR‑CCM+, OpenFOAM, Siemens NX CFD, or similar).
+Proficiency in a programming/scripting language such as Python, MATLAB, or C++ for pre‑/post‑processing or automation tasks.
+Familiarity with CAD tools (e.g., Siemens NX, CATIA, SolidWorks) is helpful but not mandatory.
+Ability to interpret simulation results, generate plots, and draw engineering conclusions.
+Experience with data analysis and visualization (e.g., using Python libraries, Excel, or Tecplot).
+Experience with high‑performance computing (HPC) environments or Linux/Unix.
+Prior exposure to rotorcraft aerodynamics, noise prediction, or multiphysics simulations.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
