Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Steel Decatur is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Occupational Health Coordinator. This professional role requires a high degree of autonomy and responsibility, including:
- Providing medical care for injured and ill teammates onsite.
- Ensuring teammates receive the best possible continual care by coordinating with outside healthcare facilities and overseeing workers’ compensation claims.
- Managing occupational medical programs, including drug and alcohol testing programs, vision testing, audiograms, respirator qualification through pulmonary function testing and fit testing, and Lead and cadmium surveillance programs.
- Participating in division and company activities, initiatives, and audits as needed.
- Supporting the Emergency Response Team with training, incident response, and outreach programs.
- Performing administrative tasks such as maintaining confidential occupational health treatment records, managing inventory control of health and safety supplies, and compiling and reporting data
- Providing after-hours support as required and participating in work-related travel.
- Demonstrating the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Registered Nurse with minimum of three years of experience
• May not have any relatives (including but not limited to a spouse, relative living in the same household with a team member, person living as the spouse of the team member, sibling, child, or parent, including step, half and in-law relations of the same) employed by Nucor Steel Decatur
Preferred Qualifications:
• BSN or equivalent
• Occupational Health Experience
• Certified CPR / First Aid Instructor or ability to obtain
• CAOHC certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist
