Comcast Technology and Product Experience (TPX) is seeking an SDET 3 to join our Connected Living Client
Application Engineering team. This group is responsible for test development of the native iOS and Android
Xfinity application, the one stop shop for our residential customers to view their bill, manage their cloud
enabled gateway and smart home devices, troubleshoot their network, and set up parental controls and
advanced security. This app is used by millions of users and is expanding internationally as partners like Sky
Italia also adopt the app.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for mobile native
applications (iOS and/or Android), utilizing various libraries, APIs, and platforms.
• Develop and maintain test cases based on requirements, user stories, and technical
specifications. Ensure that test cases cover all aspects of the functionality and edge cases.
• Execute automated and manual tests to verify the functionality, performance, and reliability of
the application. Monitor test results and analyze failures to identify issues.
• Identify, document, and report defects and issues found during testing. Collaborate with
developers to reproduce and troubleshoot bugs.
• Work closely with developers and product managers to understand the application’s
architecture and functionality. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that testing
aligns with overall project goals and deadlines.
• Participate in code reviews and design discussions to provide input on testability and quality.
• Collaborate with other engineers across products and domains to continually improve our
testing strategies, tooling, standards, and practices at Connected Living.
• Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills desired to overcome unexpected project changes.
• Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Skills & Experience:
• 5+ years of experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET).
• Expertise writing code to automate tests for mobile applications using Native Automation
Frameworks such as XCUI, Espresso and KIF.
• Good understanding of CI/CD principles, with strong analytical skills to assess and optimize
workflows and processes.
• Experience in all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle and QA Life Cycle and in all
dimensions of Functionality, Usability & Reliability.
• Test Management and Bug Tracking Tools: Experience with JIRA, Octane or equivalent tools.
• Experience in debugging tools such as ProxyMan, Charles Proxy or similar
• Experience performing manual testing where automation cannot be achieved.
• Strong knowledge of QA methodology and tools, with demonstrated experience in an SDET role.
• Has excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills to convey complex
technical solutions clearly to an organization.
• Experience in working in agile software development environments
• Interested in growing a strong engineering culture that values diversity and inclusion.
