Job Description:
Are you passionate about using advanced simulation techniques to solve real-world engineering challenges? Join our team as a Simulation Engineer and play a key role in shaping the performance and durability of Caterpillar hydraulic excavators. In this role, you’ll lead virtual analysis activities, collaborate with global experts, and contribute to the development of cutting-edge technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead virtual analysis efforts to perform machine-level Multibody Dynamics (MBD) simulations for the development of structural, undercarriage, and work tool components.
- Analyze the interaction between rigid and flexible machine bodies and simulated soils to predict machine-level performance in real-world conditions.
- Collaborate with global simulation experts to develop and implement advanced simulation technologies that improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Partner with design teams to provide simulation expertise, address product issues, and propose data-driven solutions.
- Contribute to quality improvements, cost-reduction initiatives, and product growth by leveraging advanced modeling and analysis techniques.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or adjacent field.
- Ability to work effectively in Japanese and English.
Top Candidates Will Have:
- Hands-on experience with simulation tools, including Multibody Dynamics (MBD), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), design optimization, and motion analysis.
- Familiarity with excavator systems or similar heavy equipment.
- Strong technical and non-technical communication skills to effectively collaborate with global teams.
- Experience in product development, such as simulation, validation, or design.
- Expertise in structural mechanics and dynamics.
