ABC7 Los Angeles is seeking a dynamic and motivated traffic anchor/reporter to join our morning team. We are looking for a journalist with big energy and big ideas who is multi-skilled and thrives on putting their skills to work on a weekly, even daily basis. We’re looking for someone who can anchor, report, and has experience in traffic presentation and traffic reporting who will utilize all available technology and resources to elevate storytelling.
This person will gather and monitor all elements of traffic reports, always looking for ways to elevate and enhance impactful traffic storytelling. This person will also report on transportation issues impacting our area including major construction and closures. The ideal candidate is the traffic expert and has the ability to cover everything from hard news and breaking news to big entertainment stories and events.
This position is a Monday-Friday morning shift. This role is considered on-site, which means the employee will work from a Company designated location on an ongoing basis.
Responsibilities:
Gather and monitor traffic data utilizing station technology to present impactful and informative traffic reports
Create unique and shareable traffic and transportation stories that impact Southern California communities
Collaborate on content and new ideas, handle live breaking news across platforms.
Active use of social media for promotion and news gathering.
Participate in community and station public events
Basic Qualifications:
Multiple market experience
Solid knowledge of the Los Angeles area
Must be a strong journalist and storyteller
Know how to present active and engaging live shots
Must be comfortable handling live breaking news in the field and studio
Must work well under deadline pressure
Must have schedule flexibility and ability to work holidays
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Adobe Premiere and/or Dalet One-Cut
Previous local news anchoring or fill-in anchoring experience
Previous experience covering entertainment stories
Ability to shoot, edit and publish
Bilingual preferred

The hiring range for this SAG - AFTRA role in Glendale, CA is $140,000 to $175,000 per year. The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. The role also has potential for additional compensation for overtime and early morning/overnight shifts.
