About the Role:
The Oil & Gas industry has relied upon Caterpillar power for decades for the toughest drilling, gas compression, production, power generation and well service applications. The Electrician Operator operates machines and tools used in manufacturing processes and resolve electrical and mechanical problems, to achieve production targets.
Additional Information:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

- This role is based in Huron, South Dakota
- This position requires working onsite five days a week
What Will You Do:
- Performs routine component installations and maintenance
- Maintains records of equipment usage, repair history, reliability and other similar factors
- Cooperates with other operators on the production line to ensure workflow stability
- Reads and interprets mechanical and electrical blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery
- Addresses equipment failures, calibrates errors and reports them to management in a timely manner
What Top Candidates Will Have (not required, just preferred):
- 5+ years of experience in power generation, industrial plant operations, or engine-driven facilities preferred
- Experience with natural gas reciprocating engines
- Certifications and Licenses preferred
- OSHA safety training (LOTO, confined space, HAZCOM)
- Electrical switching or high-voltage safety training
What You Will Have:
- Electrician Services: Knowledge of electrical power, lighting and control systems; ability to plan and perform electrical work for buildings, infrastructures, and equipment
- Standard Operating Procedures: Knowledge of established standard operating procedures (SOP); ability to design, implement and evaluate standard operating procedures affecting daily and strategic business operations in order to increase operational efficiency
- Technical Troubleshooting: Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools, and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application, or operation
- Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment
- Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors
- Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision
Summary Pay Range:
$81,370.00 - $122,060.00
