Description:You will be a Toolmaker with our team in Archbald, PA. Lockheed Martin Archbald is a full-service Missiles and Fire Control facility that provides design, manufacturing, engineering & field service support for both domestic and international customers.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Toolmaker, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Study blueprints, sketches, models, or oral and written specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, dies, or assemblies
- Sets up and operates conventional or computer numerically controlled machines such as lathes, milling machines and grinders to make, repair or modify dies, jigs, gauges, tools, production and prototype parts
- Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators
- Interprets CAD data, prints and sketches with regard to fabrication and can follow written and/or verbal instructions
- Recommends and executes changes to achieve process improvements and/or cycle time reductions
- Performs minor preventive maintenance to equipment
- Participates in the development or redesign of tooling and fixtures to improve quality or reduce costs
- Collaborates with other personnel to train or teach various machining or set-up techniques to obtain proficient use of time and produce quality parts
- Provides technical support to Manufacturing personnel when necessary
- Provides feedback on prescribed processes, fixturing, and tooling to ME to optimize efficiency

Basic Qualifications:• Tool Maker’s certificate or 10 years of on the job training in a job shop fabrication environment operating various machines
• Able to work safely with cleaning chemicals and solvents
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of properties of metals, shop mathematics and layout, machining, assembly and brazing procedures as related to Tool Room type work
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
• Proficiency in CNC programming, set up and operation of CNC milling machines and lathes
• Skilled in the use of all types of gauges and precision measuring instruments and must be able to adjust machines and verify dimensional accuracy of the machine functions
• Good interpersonal skills
• U.S. citizenship is required, as this position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Desired Skills:• AutoCAD and/or 3D modeling experience
• Tool making experience
• Experience in set up and operation of CNC machines
• Experience in the development of, or redesign of, tooling and fixtures to improve quality or reduce costs

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
