What will I be doing?
As the Vice President, Global Creative Director, you will lead Hilton's global creative expression, bringing it to life through distinctive brand identity, advertising, and content. Reporting to the SVP, Marketing, you will direct the identity of the brand including the visual ID, voice, and advise on applying it to our advertising, content, experiential, and other marketing to help create a brand narrative that breaks through, shifts perception, consistently around the world. You will work cross functionally with creative, marketing, media, experiential, communications and other professionals to bring our brand and trading brands to life through marketing. This role will help equip internal teams with forums, tools on creative direction, effectiveness, and more.
Your Responsibilities Will Also Include
- Lead the creative evolution of Hilton's brand platform, Hilton. For The Stay., including design, voice, and composition across channels globally
- Define and implement the creative expression of the brand, Hilton, and our 25 trading brands
- Instill creative tools and systems that allow teams to scale creative excellence
- Consult on advertising concepts in all formats
- Advise on content development, like story architecture, brand inclusion, character development, style, channel considerations, etc.
- Provide strategic, innovative, and design thinking-led solutions that facilitate fresh, compelling creative concepts delivering business objectives
- Liase with Hilton's agency partners to guide our brand(s) creatively as they develop new advertising and content strategies.
How You Will Collaborate With Others
- Build cross-functional relationships to help drive creative consistency and quality globally
- Set standards that demonstrate Hilton's creative ambition to be breakthrough and talk worthy and teach teams across creative and business to help deliver against this ambition
- Represent creative in executive level forums with c-suite level stakeholders and senior leaders around the company
What Initiatives You Will Take Ownership Of
- Guide content development of new content ideas
- Advise on brand identity and help support govern
- Leading creative conversations with marketing leaders and Hilton's EC
- Lead development, partnership, and oversight of 3rd party creative agencies and independent contractors to include Tier 2 and 3 agencies, photographers, and video production.
What are we looking for?

- Understand Hilton and the competitive landscape, including industry, competition, target audience, and marketplace changes
- Knows how to apply a global mindset to brand building with the instinct for when to lead with a global vs. regional creative to ensure a consistent customer experience.
- Understanding of culture and consumer trends with a demonstrated expertise in finding natural ways for brands to create cultural capital and build brand meaning.
- Strong network of agency and production partner relationships
- Skill to inspire and sell creative rationale to executive leadership (C-Suite), senior leadership, and multi-functional teams
- Deep understanding of media, influencers, and content and the role creative plays in creating and optimizing the experience across channels
- Demonstrates an innovative, strategic creative method by applying customer insights, design thinking, and technology
- Experience to direct high-quality creative across mediums and channels
- Experience across mediums (video, photo, interactive, print, etc.) and channels (tv, digital advertising, web, email, mobile, social media, on-property, etc.)
To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:
- Ten (10) years of leading creative for a large, globally relevant brand
- Experience leading in-house creative studio or similar environment
- Seven (7) years managing and leading large, globally dispersed teams in a fast-paced and cross-functional focused environment
- Experience in brand development and execution for large, global brands
- Up to 30% travel
It would be useful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
- Advanced Degree in Design or Marketing
- Experienced in building and leading creative teams across global regions (Americas, EMEA, and APAC)
