Overview
Join our dynamic warehouse team as a Forklift Operator on the first shift, where your energy and expertise will keep our operations running smoothly! In this vital role, you'll operate heavy equipment, including forklifts, cranes, and clamp trucks, to efficiently load, unload, and organize materials. Your skills in warehouse distribution and materials handling will directly contribute to our success. We’re looking for motivated individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and are eager to grow their career in logistics and warehouse management. This position offers an engaging work environment where safety, efficiency, and teamwork are at the forefront. Will work a 2-2-3 schedule.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to load and unload shipments
- Use RF scanners and warehouse management systems to accurately pick orders and manage inventory
- Assist with order picking processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for shipping & receiving operations
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks while adhering to OSHA safety standards and mechanical best practices
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing materials and maintaining a clean workspace
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize storage solutions and improve workflow efficiency
- Perform routine inspections of equipment such as cranes and forklifts to ensure safe operation
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, order picking, or materials handling roles
- Valid forklift certification with experience operating forklifts in a busy warehouse setting
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation including cranes, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to warehouse environments and heavy machinery
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting basic equipment issues
- Experience using RF scanners and warehouse management systems for inventory control
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the shift
- Prior warehouse supervisor or leadership experience is a plus but not required
