Amentum is seeking a high performing Project Engineer II to lead the technical execution of Engineering projects supporting our National Security and National Laboratory customers. This is a great position for those looking to transition their career from the Engineering Design track to the Management track, with an affinity for supporting projects that are actively in the Conceptual or Detailed Design phase, as well as projects supporting Procurement and Construction Support activities. •Directs the preparation and submits reports and forecasts on the status of the discipline.
•Advises the Project Engineering Manager / Project Manager regarding status of assignment(s) with respect to schedule, budgets, delays and adverse problems
•Ability to identify and address technical issues with the aim of constructing and implementing process improvements.
•Ensures quality, quantity and completeness of the assigned engineering tasks.
•Lead project change control process and train others to identify potential changes.
•Identifies and ensures compliance with regulatory, licensing and state requirements.
•Prepares and issues Engineering Execution Plans (e.g., pre-job briefs), and ensures that all necessary and appropriate customer requirements, procedures and standards are incorporated.
•Keeps Project Manager, Principal Engineers and/or Supervising Discipline Engineers advised of project progress, performance and manpower utilization with particular attention to delays, adverse trends, errors and omissions.
•Assures proper documentation of meetings, agreements, conversations, etc. that affect the conduct of the project.
•Coordinates the customers’ engineering comments, approvals and requests with the functional activities of all disciplines.
