About The Role:
CBRE’s Investment Accounting & Reporting Solutions group is seeking a Controller to join a collaborative team focused supporting a portfolio of clients in the hospitality industry. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial accounting, reporting, and analysis of hospitality‑related operations.
What You'll Do:
· Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for assigned client(s).
· Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and CBRE policies.
· Oversee revenue recognition, cash management, accruals, fixed assets, and cost allocations.
· Prepare and review detailed operating statements, variance analyses, KPI reports, and supplemental schedules required by client(s).
· Ensure timely delivery of financial packages and compliance with client reporting deadlines and service level agreements.
· Provide insights into business performance, highlighting trends and drivers affecting various revenue streams and expenses.
· Act as the primary accounting contact for client finance teams, operators, and senior stakeholders.
· Support clients with budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of business results.
· Provide guidance on accounting implications of new initiatives, system changes, and business events.
· Maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting, revenue processes, inventory, cash handling, and expense management.
· Support internal and external audits, providing required documentation and explanations.
· Ensure adherence to CBRE’s IA&R standards, SOX compliance (if applicable), and client‑specific policies.
· Supervise and mentor junior staff within the IA&R hospitality group.
· Oversee workload planning, review work product, and provide ongoing training to ensure high performance and technical accuracy.
· Foster a culture of continuous improvement, process standardization, and operational efficiency.
· Drive improvements in accounting procedures, reporting automation, and workflow efficiencies.
· Support onboarding of new clients and transition of new scopes of work.
· Work with ticketing, POS, and hospitality financial systems to ensure accurate data integration.

· Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5-8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
· Prior hospitality, attractions, entertainment, or hotel accounting experience highly preferred.
· Experience with financial ERP systems; exposure to ticketing or POS systems is a plus.
· Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced, client‑focused environment.
· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and related tools.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner with clients and cross‑functional teams.
· Strong quantitative skills, with the ability to perform moderately complex financial calculations such as percentages, fractions, and related numerical analyses.
