About The Role
As a CBRE Health, Safety and Environment Manager, you will be in charge of creating and implementing health, safety, and environmental programs for small to medium-sized clients.
This job is part of the Environment Health and Safety function. They are responsible for organizational programs and procedures to safeguard employees and surrounding communities
What You’ll Do
- Promote a positive and proactive culture to influence stakeholders, and to ensure compliance.
- Assist with implementing and reviewing playbooks, and procedures. Ensure Health, Safety, and Environmental initiatives drive program consistency and efficiency across direct employees and on-site third-party suppliers.
- Responsible for overseeing HSE responsibilities in High Voltage Operations to ensure the safe execution of all work involving high-tension (high voltage) electrical systems.
- Develop, implement, and maintain electrical safety programs including LOTO, Energized Work Permit Program, Arc-flash protection and high-voltage work practices.
- Manage HSE program compliance to comply with OSHA 1910 & 1926, NFPA 70E, NEC and applicable NYC local and NY state and federal regulations.
- Manage all training and compliance requirements associated with the use of the on-site high-lift equipment.
- Conduct HSE hazard identification inspections and effectively implement programs focused on leading indicators.
- Oversee MEWP and Working at Heights Program.
- Manage initiatives to meet regulatory, legal, and compliance requirements.
- Track operational and safety risks. Develop and manage strategic risk management strategies to avoid potential incidents.
- Monitor injury, illness, and incident reports. Provide recommendations on how to prevent risk. Lead and report injury investigations, near misses, and high-potential events.
- Monitor Health, Safety, and Environmental regulatory compliance within the account. Work with management to create strategic solutions that improve and maintain compliance as required.
- Work with stakeholders to identify potential concerns. Communicate findings, concerns, and deficiencies to responsible functional managers.
- Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Influence parties of shared interests to reach an agreement.
- Apply knowledge of own discipline and how own discipline integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day and moderately complex issues which may or may not be evident in existing systems and processes.
- Conduct all fall protection training and compliance of on-site employees and third-party suppliers
What You’ll Need
- Additional certifications as required by the local authority.
- Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems.
- Leadership skills to motivate team impact on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the job discipline and department.
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state and local health and safety, and environmental regulations is essential.
- Direct experience dealing with regulatory agencies and / or compliance officers is preferred.
- NFPA 70E Certification Required
- Experience providing HSE oversight for NEC and NFPA requirements
- QEW HSE oversight experience and QEW Certification preferred
- Extensive OSHA 1910 & 1926 knowledge required
- Fall Protection Competent Person and Train the Trainer Certification Preferred
- Experience with MEWP & FL Program Required and MEWP &/or FL Training Certification Preferred
- Experience working in high-rise construction/safety, HSE facility maintenance and management is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Health, Safety, & Environmental Manager position is $130,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Health, Safety, & Environmental Manager position is $160,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
