Owner is responsible for defining, prioritizing, and governing AI products from concept through lifecycle management. This role represents the voice of the customer and business, translating strategic objectives into a clear product vision, outcome-based roadmap, and prioritized backlog for AI and GenAI capabilities. The Product Owner works closely with AI architects, data science pod leaders, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to ensure solutions deliver measurable business value.
Responsibilities
Product Vision & Strategy: Define and communicate a clear product vision, value proposition, and success metrics for AI and GenAI products
Stakeholder & Outcome Management: Partner with business stakeholders to identify problems, validate use cases, and define outcome-based requirements and acceptance criteria
Backlog Ownership: Create, prioritize, and continuously refine the product backlog, ensuring alignment to business value, risk, dependencies, and technical feasibility.
Delivery Enablement: Collaborate with data science pods to plan increments, participate in sprint ceremonies, and ensure timely delivery of product increments without acting as a project manager.
Value Measurement: Define and track product KPIs, adoption metrics, and value realization to guide prioritization and investment decisions.
Quality & Readiness: Ensure features meet definition of done, responsible AI standards, security, and compliance requirements prior to release.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of AI projects, including requirements, design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users to ensure effective utilization of AI solutions.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI technologies and recommend improvements to existing solutions.
Degree Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, data science, business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Skill Descriptors
AI Product Acumen: Working knowledge of AI/ML and Generative AI concepts sufficient to make informed product trade-off decisions (not expected to design or code models).
Data-Informed Decision Making: Ability to interpret analytics, experiments, and model performance metrics to guide prioritization and roadmap decisions
Ability to translate business strategy into outcome-driven product goals and measurable value hypotheses
Agile Product Ownership: Experience working in Agile teams with hands-on ownership of product backlogs and sprint planning
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively to develop innovative solutions.

Works with a formal life cycle methodology.
Explains phases, activities, dependencies, deliverables, and key decision points.

Knowledge of AI and Generative AI concepts, risks, and opportunities; ability to govern and guide AI product development to achieve business outcomes while adhering to responsible AI principles.

Locates relevant resources to obtain the latest information on artificial intelligence.
Cites examples of successful implementation of AI technologies and systems.
Programming
Knowledge of relevant programming languages and tools; ability to test, write, design, debug, troubleshoot, and maintain source codes and computer programs.
Technical Troubleshooting
Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools, and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application, or operation.
Discovers, analyzes, and resolves hardware, software, or application problems.
Works with vendor-specific diagnostic guides, tools, and utilities.
Handles calls related to product features, applications, and compatibility standards.
